This week Ewals Cargo Care hosted three major events at the headquarters in Tegelen. More than 200 customers, subcontractors and sales representatives were welcomed to meet with peers and to discuss actual topics, challenges in transportation and the changing market situation. The theme of the three days was the Next Generation Logistics in which we as an industry keep challenging ourselves to embrace new developments and opportunities.
On Tuesday the event week started off with a sales event to update our European sales force on internal developments. In the afternoon they were challenged on several aspects of Next Generation Logistics leading up to a competition in which the winning team proved themselves to be true specialists on the theme.
The annual customer day on Wednesday was the setting for more than 80 customers to share their views on Next Generation Logistics. After an opening lunch, guest speaker, Myriam Jans (Manager European affairs at TLN) gave an update on European legislation and discussed current hot topics like driver shortages and social dumping. Michiel van Veen (Director Supply Chain & Operations at Royal Lemkes) gave insights on his company’s approach to Next Generation Logistics later in the afternoon. Afterwards ideas were shared over a standing dinner.
The Next Generation Logistics was a relevant theme especially for our subcontractors as they are in the middle of the challenging market developments. In the morning program some lively discussions on the European legislation arose during the presentation of Myriam Jans, followed by four different workshops on planning and driver training in the afternoon.
We would like thank everyone for making this event worthwhile and giving us lots of inspiration. We are looking forward to seeing you again next year!
