Last Thursday evening, during a gala diner at the Amsterdam Krasnapolsky hotel, Ewals Cargo Care received the Computable Award 2007 for the best ICT-project of the year in Transport and Logistics. 31,000 Readers of the specialist journal Computable have chosen the project of Ewals Cargo Care out of the list of 5 nominated firms, including also NS, Vos Logistics and Nabuurs Transport.

The winning BASIC project is a very important step for Ewals Cargo Care in the further innovation of it’s services in the strongly evolving logistics market. Aim of the project is, to combine internal process improvements with more customer-oriented services. That is why Ewals Cargo Care has chosen to roll out QuintiQ as a planning supporting tool over all it’s European offices. At the same time Ewals Cargo Care realized a narrow integration of the planning department with the back-end administration via a business process driven integration.

Via the Business Process Management suite of Cordys not only a flawless connection between operations and administration is achieved, but Ewals Cargo Care now also has a toolset to model business processes based on internal and customer-oriented needs. By doing so, the Service Oriented Architecture, on which the e-Support platform is based, will be extended with a Service Oriented Process Architecture in which the diverse operational roles will be supported with the right tools.

For Ewals Cargo Care, this Award is recognition of the permanent innovation, which is the core strategy to stay leading in Move, Store and Manage.
