New UK Domestic service launched, backed by RHA

We are proud to announce that, for 2025, the Charter team at our UK & IE office, based in Colchester, Essex, is now officially a member of the UK Road Haulage Association (RHA). This move comes as they launch their new UK Domestic service, which focuses on consignments collected and delivered within the United Kingdom, and whose membership ensures that the service they offer will meet the requirements and standards of the RHA.

UK Domestic Transport Services

The launch of this new service is in response to the continued growth our UK & IE office, who have increased in size considerably over the last 5 years, with headcount having doubled at the regional location. Whilst primarily offering Full and Part-Load EU Multimodal Logistics to our clients via our self-owned fleet, the Charter team specifically assist import/export clients with non-standard business, working to ensure that a solution can always be found for a Client.

Building on the years of experience and strategic partnerships the team have gained and built in this role, they are now launching the UK Domestic service for existing and new clients alike. The UK Domestic service will sit alongside their offering of warehousing, container shipping, and specialist services (flatbed, chilled, clothing), a lineup that already ensure the team can handle a full array of forwarding services for clients. Additionally, for the new UK Domestic service, the Charter team also has access to the company’s 4400+ Trailer fleet to offer capacity and unique value to the UK marketplace.

The RHA and UK Forwarding

To prepare for this service launch, the Charter team have applied for and gained UK Road Haulage Association membership, which aligns with the company's commitment to excellence and continuous improvement with that of the Association’s defined standards. By becoming a member, the team will gain access to a wealth of knowledge, industry insights, and best practices that will enhance its operations and service offerings, ensuring they are delivered to a high level of professionalism. The RHA's Conditions of Carriage, for example, provide a clear framework for the legal relationship between the carrier and the customer, ensuring transparency and accountability in the movement of goods, giving clients piece of mind for their consignments.
