At Ewals Cargo Care, we aim to support international supply chains with smart logistics solutions. One of our valued partners is Belden, a global leader in network and connectivity solutions with operations across multiple continents. For a company like Belden, a reliable and efficient supply chain isn’t just important, it’s essential. But managing flows while meeting high expectations for speed and transparency is no small feat. 

That’s where we came in. With our Transport Management service, we provided Belden with visibility and the ability to proactively steer their supply chain.

The challenge

Belden approached us with a clear goal: to gain end-to-end visibility and simplify their supply chain. 

They weren’t just looking for a logistics provider; they needed a strategic partner with advanced tools and deep operational expertise. Thanks to our proven track record in continuous supply chain improvement, we were the natural fit.

Belden’s logistics network was highly decentralised, creating challenges in
coordination and efficiency. To overcome these, the company needed:

  • Greater visibility across its supply chain.

  • Standardised processes and systems.

  • A partner to help build resilience and  reduce complexity.

  • A roadmap toward a Transport Management service.


We’ve been consolidating our operations over the past few years. We used to operate 40 different businesses. Now, we’re aligning under a unified strategy — sometimes regional, sometimes global. We want to become one Belden. That’s where our Transport Management service collaboration with Ewals Cargo Care comes in. Our goal is to build our own Transport Management service eventually, but we’re taking it step by step

The solution

The Transport Management service offered:

  • Strategic supply chain orchestration for Belden Venlo, integrating intercompany flows across EMEA.

  • Visibility tools (e.g. Shippeo integration), to give the customer service team  immediate access
    to shipment status in the future.

  • Strategic guidance on process standardisation.

  • A collaborative, proactive approach to continuous improvement.

 

“Before we started, we knew we needed to improve — but we lacked the internal capacity and strategic knowledge to do it alone. Our focus was on optimising the full supply chain for Belden Venlo, including the complex intercompany flows connected to other EMEA plants. (Concerning the EMEA DC covering about 50% of our regional distribution, Venlo plays a central role in our network.)

In the future, we want to expand beyond Venlo and realise visibility and control at other EMEA sites, Today, we’ve successfully onboarded Belden Venlo, establishing complete supply chain visibility and control from this central hub. While Venlo is currently the only site fully integrated, we’re in active discussions with multiple EMEA locations to extend this model — preparing them for future onboarding. We recognised early on that while our operational expertise was solid, scaling across regions required deeper strategic and systems capabilities. That’s where Ewals Cargo Care
came in.”

Future outlook

Belden’s next steps include:

  • Expanding KPI tracking to include preventive service disruptions.

  • Using Transport Management data for network optimisation (e.g. warehouse location strategy)

  • Continuing the journey toward a Transport Management model.

Although Ewals Cargo Care does not currently have a presence in the APAC or Americas regions, it remains a key element of Belden’s logistics approach in the EMEA region.
